Had a blast taking photos at the 1st Annual Rock the Rodeo hosted by my workplace, Old Pueblo Vapor.
Good environment. Beware of college kids on the dance floor and general rubbernecking. The Maverick has a better dancefloor, but of you want some country vibe downtown, the Wreck is it. Pretty good tunes for dancing, better for grabbing a cheap beer and hanging out.
I haven't drank in 5 years but still go out on occasion to listen to music or be designated driver. Last night I walked into the Wreck (which it is) with my date and the bouncer asked me to step back outside. There I was told I couldn't go inside because I have a tattoo on my neck. I have a one inch zodiac symbol at the base of my neck. At this point I just wanted to leave but my party was split up due to this incident. All I wanted to do was let my friends know that I couldn't get through the door but the management wanted to act like a frat house. Establishments like this should not be accepted by the local community. Clearly I was judged by the colors of my skin. Im also not a gang banger like half the crowd inside the establishment pretend to be. I'm just a law abiding tax paying military vet who was treated like a piece of garbage. I will never step foot near The Wreck ever again. I suggest anyone reading this to go somewhere else.

Know before you go
- Avoid peak times when college kids might dominate the dance floor
- Check if your favorite bartender is working before going as service quality may vary
- Be aware that entry policies might be strict regarding tattoos or appearance
Reviews
The Wreck seems to have a mixed reputation among reviewers. Some mention overpriced drinks and issues with service, while others appreciate the music and country vibe it offers. One reviewer was disappointed by the treatment received at the door due to having a tattoo on their neck, feeling unfairly judged. Despite some negative experiences, there are mentions of good tunes for dancing and enjoying cheap beers in a lively environment.

I used to go here all the time and I really liked it. I had become quite comfortable with picking Katie as my bartender which says al lot because I'm picky and a bartender myself. It had been a few months and I wanted to treat my brother to a drink. When I showed up there Katie wasn't working and a blonde woman was there really skinny and shorter than normal with curled hair. I ordered 2 boiler makers. First off she did not know what it was, second after telling her she got it wrong gave me a can of beer without a cup and then she charged me for four drinks. After face palming for a second I was just going to say what ever and go about my marry way. As I reached for me and my brothers drinks she grabbed my arm and told me I can only take two drinks at a time. I asked are you sure about that? This is because I have a title IV and I know its up to 4 drinks at a time such as 32oz of beer, 4oz of distilled spirits. That's why someone can order two martinis at once and take one to another person or a pitcher of beer. She looked at me and snidely said I am Its my job. Obviously she isn't good at her job because she doesn't know her drinks or her laws and has terrible CS skills. Feeling irritated I waited for my brother to come back from the john. When he showed I went to hand him his incorrectly made and improperly priced drink and the over-glorified server grabbed my arm almost causing me to spill it on myself. At that point I was tired of it and I walked out. I went up to the playground and enjoyed the rest of my night. I'm writing this because I had invested a lot of time and money in the establishment, growing fond of it, and I leave for a few months and everything went to hell. If you guys got rid of Katie that was a terrible decision!!! Please have your employees learn their laws and their drinks. I will give you guys another shot since the owner has been really nice to me in the past and that's my go to bar, but this time you get a ZERO for the experience.
Almost nobody was there. Drinks were not bad but not great. The bouncer demanded to see around my waist and I had to ask repeatedly for an answer as to why. No reason to go here when you can see far better bars from the patio.
